WHY I CHOSE TO WORK AT LANCE VERMEULEN REAL ESTATE:

I met Lance over twenty years ago and was impressed with how he – and now his team – brought the real estate business in the Berkshires to the next level. These are the kinds of people I want to be associated with.

SOMETHING EXTRA SPECIAL YOU CAN EXPECT WORKING WITH PAUL:

In addition to finding the right home or building and location, Paul will bring an added knowledge of the land to his work. Passionate about the natural world, Paul believes knowing your land (what it holds in terms of habitat for flora and fauna, who lives and grows there, the health of the property, it’s past and its potential) is a valuable piece to finding the right place for you.

I was born in Worcester, MA, the youngest of ten children. From the start I understood the meaning and value of hard work. I was the first to graduate from a 4-year college, St. Anselm, with a Bachelor of Arts degree.

I married my best friend from St. Anselm, Tes Sluka, who grew up in New Marlborough. Our newlywed plans changed early on when Tes’s mom died in the late 1980’s and we moved into the old family farmhouse on Calkins Cross Road. As a city boy I was surprised to find I quickly fell in love with country living in the Berkshires.

Over 35 years later, with two grown daughters, we remain happily rooted in New Marlborough. I consider living in the Berkshires the best place to be. As a real estate agent, I can help others find their happy place as well.

My early career landed me in the wireless industry in its beginnings. For the past 33 years I have been a real estate manager in the industry. During this time, I also pursued my real estate and broker’s license and dabbled in commercial and home sales.

Outside of my professional career, I’m passionate about two things that keep me grounded: skiing and farming. As a ski instructor at Ski Butternut, I love helping others discover the thrill of the slopes while enjoying the beautiful outdoors. Teaching skiing has given me the opportunity to work with people of all skill levels fostering a positive, encouraging environment that makes learning fun.

In addition to skiing, I spend my time tending to a gentleman’s farm, where I enjoy caring for animals and cultivating a variety of crops. The balance of these two passions— skiing and farming, help me stay connected to nature and the outdoors while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
