MOST PEOPLE WOULDN’T KNOW:
Despite my short stature, I was an avid basketball player—so much so that I built a basketball court in my previous Berkshire home.
Ruining many walks pursuing the game of golf.
I was raised in New York, and earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Boston University. Drawn by the serenity of the region, I moved to the Berkshires full time in 1997. I am grateful to live here with my wife, Paula.
A 40-year veteran of the institutional trading equity and options business, I’ve been quoted in several financial publications, including the Wall Street Journal. I’ve been investing in local real estate since 2006, and am co-developer of Highfield on Main, an upscale condo project in Great Barrington. I also serve on the Board of the Community Development Corporation of the Southern Berkshires whose mission is creating affordable housing and economic development.
I got my real estate license in 2011, and joined the LVRE team in 2017. I served as Treasurer on the Berkshire County MLS Board during 2016-17. I’m licensed in MA, NY, and CT, and work with both commercial and residential clients.
I am good at quickly cutting through the maze of inventory to deliver great property prospects to my clients. When offer time comes, I’m a skilled negotiator. My goal is to bring about the best result for all parties involved.
Due to my many years in the financial world, I know my way around market statistics and analytics. I can help seller clients understand market conditions and trends, and position their property accordingly. Likewise, I educate my buyers on how a target property fits in to the larger picture.
I enjoy my work, and put in long hours to make sure my clients receive the best service I can offer.

“ I have worked with Tom Doyle for many years now. He recently sold one of my properties in Stockbridge, MA. His high level of professionalism, deep knowledge, patience and enthusiasm was clearly a big reason behind my super successful sale. Working remotely Tom made a high-quality and trustable team with Cara Carroll, his local partner. Every detail of the sale was handled promptly and professionally. I highly recommend Tom and his team for anybody who is looking for a successful sale!”
Tom Doyle and Emily Thomson worked overtime to get my house ready for sale and to get me the best possible price. They were available to me at all times, day or night, through a complicated negotiation and sale, relentlessly advocating for my interests. There are simply no other realtors I would recommend more strongly in the Berkshires.
We first met Tom in 2019 as we began our search for a home in the Berkshires. At first, we were wide open to all considerations for a place to make our home. Tom guided us through looking at the various options for home ownership – considering every aspect that needed to be fully understood by us: whether we wanted to be in a neighborhood, or isolated, or somewhere in-between; whether we wanted an old historic home, or something newer, or just open land to build upon. At that time, we really didn’t know what we were looking for.
Tom listened as we responded to seeing various properties, and carefully chose places that were good options for each type of home. This allowed us to do our own self-discovery to determine what was really most important for our family. As we narrowed our focus, Tom was diligent in analyzing the listings to recommend the best properties to go and see in person. Tom’s insight into a property’s real value to our family was absolutely brilliant; and his knowledge of the Berkshire real estate market runs deep. He came to understand our family and what excited us, and equally as important, what was not likely to be a good fit for us. Tom was always very good at pointing out both the key upsides as well as the downsides of a given property. Even if some information may not have been what we “wanted to hear”, we got the information we NEEDED. Through these experiences, we gained a solid trust in Tom. There were instances where certain properties had excited us tremendously at one time, but Tom had pointed out key concerns that ultimately guided us away from them. Only in hindsight were we able to appreciate how absolutely vital that was for getting to the right decision on a property.
In the end (which was over two years after we had first met Tom) we found a great piece of land that we knew was right for us. Tom moved swiftly and guided us through the process, step by step, from first making an offer, through the due-diligence steps, and all the way to closing; and he was there for us 24-7 whenever we had questions.
For all of this, we want to give a big THANK YOU to Tom and Lance Vermeulen Real Estate. For everyone else seeking to purchase or sell real estate, we highly recommend you get in touch with Tom Doyle.

We decided to divert from our usual policy of not conducting business with friends when we went with you for the sale of our house. But it was a very wise decision, and we were so pleased with the conscientious way you took care of us through some bumpy days, and your willingness to go the extra mile for us. We will always remember that, and will be pleased to recommend you to others along the way.

We found Tom by lucky accident. We liked that he is licensed in New York, Massachusetts and Connecticut because we wanted more options. He guided us to our apartment and a short time later to our new home. Tom not only knows the market and the surrounding areas, he offers savvy advice. His personal attention carried over from our deposit to the closing, and made a complicated process much smoother. We are very grateful to Tom and we highly recommend him.
It’s hard to believe that at this time last year my husband Steve and I had just begun to look at houses, hoping to find our next home in the Berkshires. We had started off looking at property with the idea of building, but with the encouragement of our very helpful, wise (and patient!) broker, Tom Doyle, we began to realize that there were so many existing homes that would suit our desire to be living in this area sooner rather than having to face years of planning and building.
We were coming from Long Island, so each visit had to be well organized to maximize our brief time, and Tom always had a well thought out game plan that gave us a chance to see as many houses in the area as we could without feeling rushed. He steered us away from those that he knew would not appeal, and found us a surprising number of good possibilities. Between trips, he sent along any listings that fit our criteria right away. Once we zeroed in on The One, he made sure we got several chances to see it. He was very helpful with all aspects of the purchase, even beyond closing. Now that we are finally getting settled into our new home, it seems inevitable, but looking back, we know we have Tom to thank for guiding us on the “long and winding road” to find it!
