SKILLS I BRING TO THE JOB:
- Multi-tasking and solving problems.
- Supporting people in fulfilling their dreams.
- Communicating clearly. Those that know me know I am a “straight talker”—I am not shy, and tell it like it is!
Travel, theatre, music, reading.
Don’t sweat the small stuff!
In every aspect of my life—from parenting, to 14 years as a real estate agent, to a long career in education, to being a CEO of my own company—I’ve been a counselor, advocate, teacher, listener and problem solver. I seem to have developed an instinctive sense of what seems right for people.
I think that’s why I am a successful REALTOR®—and why I have loved this work since joining LVRE in 2004.
Here’s a little bit about my life before 2004:
After developing educational plans for migrants in the South Dade County Labor Camp in the 60s, I spent years teaching in the Florida school system.
In the 70s, I created and operated Just Baskets, a specialty gift basket business, which was franchised from South Florida to Toronto.
In the 80’s, I went back into Education as a Curriculum Developer in Science and Reading for a Magnet Program. As an Ombudsman for a 100+ member faculty, I became good at solving problems!
I took a break to get a Masters degree in Science and Special Education in 1992.
When my husband and I moved to the Berkshires in 1999, I worked in bookkeeping at Eisner and Crane Lake camps.
Along the way, I raised 5 children and 10 grandchildren!
Judi Lazan was very helpful in every way in the sale of our house. She gave us advice as to how to best prepare the house for sale, including how much to spend to fix it up and where to spend it. She gave us excellent recommendations for professionals who could add value. Judi knows what’s necessary to comply with local regulations and did the work for us where possible. We were in constant communication with Judi, who answered all our questions–and there were quite a few. Judi did all the legwork we weren’t able to do because we were not in the area. She worked very hard–meeting with the caretaker, checking to see that work on the house was going well during the preparation for sale, and doing whatever was necessary, no matter how big or small. Judi brought potential buyers to see the house throughout the tough winter. She had a good relationship with the other real estate agents, which helps in getting people to the house. She kept us informed at all times about the number of buyers, their opinions, and their degree of interest. She told us promptly if there was a bid on the house and advised on what price to counter the bid. She respected our wishes on price even when she disagreed. Judi worked all hours of the day or night to get a deal done. She interacted well with the other broker so that the negotiations were always cordial. Judi was always honest with us, and we trusted her. At times we had different opinions on how to market the house, but she deferred to our wishes. The bottom line is that we think she earned her commission in spades. She’s a hard, honest, smart real estate agent.
Judi is that rare and fabulous blend of total professionalism and extreme talent. She truly listens to what her client’s desires are and then somehow manages to intuit even more than they have expressed, and then finds them the perfect home for their needs. I couldn’t recommend her more highly. She goes the extra mile and always with ease, grace and very good humor. She is so much fun to be around that you will feel entertained throughout the process. You will be understood, your needs will be anticipated, and you will find the house of your dreams. Whenever anyone says they are thinking of buying in the Berkshires, I immediately give them the name of the best realtor I know, Judi Lazan!
